THE CRICKET IN TIMES SQUARE
by George Selden
drawings by Garth Williams

the main character is Chester and he is a cricket

the second main character is Mario he is a person

the third main person is tucker and he is a rat

the fourth main person is harry and he is a cat

As my story starts there was a cricket out in Connecticut just sitting there and humming and then he smelled something really good it was a picnic basket and so he hopped in and thought it would be nice so he ate a few things and then he felt something the basket was moving then the next thing he knew he was in new york then he saw something it was a newsstand or something and so he jumped up and then before he knew it he was in a cage. The person was a boy and his name was Mario he was the person that had put Chester in the cage then one day when Mario was still asleep at his house and in his bed a rat named tucker came up to the cage and told Chester his name and then in no time chest was out and they were best friend but then a few minutes later a cat jumped up then Chester was so scared that he ran into his cage and locked it then tucker said that the cat was his best friend and so the cat and Chester told each other there names and them too were best friends.

The City of Ember The writer is Jeanne DuPrau she is Female

Lina is an adventurous girl that wants to know what is out of the city of Ember.

Doon is a boy that wants to save his city from the disastrous ending.

Poppy is Lina's baby sister.

The comments about the setting is the City of Ember is underground.

The story is about courage hard work and friendship.

First the lights started to go out 3 times a week.  And then more and more then one day the lights went out longer then they had ever gone out before they went out seven minutes and fifteen seconds.

I thought that the book was good. I liked how it was easy to find the way out. I didn't like how it took them a long time to to find it. The story was hard to believe. The story was predictable sometimes. The Ending was OK.

The Sign of Four

The Sign of Four

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Title

2

Sherlock Holmes is the Hero of the story.

Holmes is one of the most amazing guys I have ever read about.  He is sharp, quick, intelligent, observant, very energetic, and the world's most famous detective.  He lives with Watson and is also a scientist/chemist.  He likes trying to invent ways to stop crime by inventing powders, chemicals, and anything of the sort to help the police out with finding the bad guy.

Holmes does right when he decides to fight crime, not use his powers for doing crime.

I can identify with Holmes when he states that he hates crime.

Dr. Watson is another character.

He writes down all the cases that he and Holmes go on and sometimes helps with Holmes cases.  He is a retired army doctor and was wounded in the war, so that he was discharged.

John Small is a main character in this story.  He is a man who was betrayed by his friends and crippled.  He is a large man who lives only for revenge.  He is not violent or evil, he has just harbored the thought of getting revenge for so long that it has consumed him.

3

The story takes place in London around 1860.

London is a place filled with crime and decider, and Holmes is out to stop it.

4

Probably that crime does not pay, and that you sin will always find you out.

This is a story of mystery, intrigue, murder, revenge, and treasure.

5

  1. Holmes is hired by a lady to come with her, she got a telegram from a man that told her to meet him a a house.  When they get there a small bald man tells them a story about how their father left half a million in jewels to them and how he thought a man was after them.
  2. When they got to his twin brother's house, they find him dead, and the treasure gone.  Holmes and Watson immediately go after the man.
  3. They catch up to him while trying to make his getaway and they are forced to shoot this small indian with a deadly poison blow dart.
  4. John Small (the bad guy) tells them how he was betrayed and how his servant, the one Holmes had shot, had killed the brother.  Then he told them that he had thrown the treasure off the ship and into the water.
6

I thought it was very well written and thought out.

I liked it how in the end Watson got the lady who hired them, and they got married.

I don't think I didn't like any of the story.

Not really.

No, the story had lots of good twists.

Watson got the girl, the bad guy got ten years.

Finally they manage to get enough time to try to get out of Ember.  And they succeed on doing so.  When they make it out of Ember they right the note explaining the way out of Ember

I really loved the whole book.
I don't think there was anything that I didn't like about the book.
The whole book sound like it was pretty realistic.
Well, It was kind to predictable.
I loved the ending of the story I just can't wait until I get the next book.

KWINN
The Harper Book of Princes was written by Sally Patrick Johnson She is a female.

There are a lot of main characters because this is a book with lots of stories in it.

These stories are about Courage, Working Hard, Friends, Love, Happiness, Sadness.

The time of these stories is Medieval where the Sword was the Weapon.

One of the stories was there was a Rabbit that was once a man, He was a prince too, and he wanted to be a price again, The King did not want the rabbit to be prince, but he didn't know the the rabbit was the prince.

I think the book was good, I liked how everything happened as a thought it would, I didn't like how there was so much love in the stories, The stories were predictable, The stories were not hard to believe, And the Endings were good.

Author. Brett and Alex Harris

Title. Start Here

Publisher. Multnomah

It was published in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2010.

It taught me how to get started with the ideas I have.  And it told a lot of story's about people who have had an idea to glorify God but when they do it people begin to think there crazy or something by not going with the flow.

It also taught me that God could help me through every thing that happens to me.  They told a lot of storys of things that have happend to people that really hurt them but God help them through.

It also taught me that God could use these hard things to prepare you for something bigger in your life.

This book taught me that if I had an idea or a way to glorify God I need to continuosly look at my motives to makes sure that they are about God and not about me and all the glory I can get for me.

I found out that with help from other people we can do greater things for the glory of God.

Three really good thing about this book is that I encourages teens to get ideas about how they can glorify God.

It shows them story's of other people who have done really hard things for God.

It shows teens what can happen and what big of an impact they can be to other if they don't act like the world's ordinary teen.

The title give the readers some ideas of ways thy can impact the world.

I believe that the book and all the story's inside it are real.

Quick story.  A little while ago Brett and Alex were at a conference, and they had some people snap there fingers some rub there hands together and some pat there legs.  When it when through the whole thing I sounded like it had rained and said that if you just had one person snap or one raindrop it would not make a big impact on people but when when you have a lot of people doing the those raindrops become a flood.

Erak's Ransom

Erak's Ransom

John Flanagan

Action/Adventure

2

Will is the main character.

He is the apprentice of the famed ranger Halt.  A ranger is one of the most dreaded fighters in all the land or Araluen.  They are masters of unseen  movement and have deadly accuracy with a bow.  They also use a Saxe knife and a smaller throwing knife.

Will does right, when he volunteers to go with the princess Cassandra and Horace to free Erak.

Erak is another main character  in the story.

Erak is a Scandian, a huge viking like guy who carries an axe, and loves to go on raids.  He is also the Oberjarl of the Scandians, and a good friend to the king a princess of Araluen.  And a good friend of Will's.

Selethen is another character who plays a big part in the book.

Selethen is an Aradian.  He is the one who is responsible for taking Erak captive when he is trying to raid his city.  He is the the governor-like guy who is in charge of the city.

3

A majority of the book is written in Aradia, somewhere in the medieval times.

Aradia is largely inhabited by deserts and barren lands, where it is hot, and dry, and humid.

4

Moral of the story:  Good always win over the bad (in the end).

Friendship, and courage.

A big problem in the book was King Duncan of Araluen had important business to attend to, so he could not go and ransom Erak.  His daughter, Cassandra, volunteered to go, but he was reluctant to let her, since she was only fifteen.  But finally after much persuading from his friends he relented and told her she could go.

5

  1. Erak grows restless of being Oberjarl and decides to go on a raid, but he is captured and his men are sent away to collect a ransom for him
  2. Instead of going to Scandia, he goes to Araluen.  Erak had told his first mate Svengel to go to Araluen instead of Scandia because he believed that a fellow Scandian had betrayed him so he could claim to be the Oberjarl in Erak's place.
  3. Will, Horace, Halt, Gilan, Cassandra, Svengel and thirty Scandians go back to Aradia to ransom Erak.
  4. When they get there they find that Erak's escort had been ambushed and he had been taken captive but the Blueveils, or the Forgotten of God.  A desert warring tribe, whose only desire in life was to get as much Gold as they could.
  5. After Will's horse runs away and he is found by the Bedullins, Halt and his companions are taken captive by the Blueveils and are going to be taken captive.
  6. Will rallies the Bedullin's help and united with them takes out the Blueveils and Asek, the leader.
6

It is my favorite book of the series.

I like it in the end when Will comes to the rescue and saves Halt and his friends from becoming headless.

I don't like it how Will is willing to risk his life for his horse.

Not really, John Flanagan is one of the best authors I have ever read before.

Not at all.

Will finally gets the silver oakleaf, the sign of him becoming a full-fletched ranger.

Ky
The Vile Village was written by Lemony Snicket he is a male.

All three of them got moved to V.F.D.

I didn't really like the book.
It was sad.

Ben Her

Ben Her

The author Lew Wallace

Genre Action Adventure

The main characters names is Judah / Ben her.

A young, hansom, intelligent man.

He does right when he begins to believe in Jesus.

Another character is Messala

Messala is a proud, Strong, intelligent man.

The author I think is trying to show that hatred will not fulfill you and that Christ can do anything.

This book is about greed, sadness, love caring, and friends.

A problem is that he could not find his mom and his sister but he does not give up and he finds them.

Six events that happened was
He was taken captive.
He was sold into slavery.

He was taken in as a son to someone.
He saw the Christ.
He found his sister and his mother.

I actually really liked the book.

I liked how there was good and bad parts in the book.

No! The book was no confusing or hard to believe.

Yes it was kind of predictable because I had heard the story before.

The ending was great.

Dream Thief

Dream Thief

Stephen Lawhead

SciFi/Adventure/Futuristic

2

Spencer is the main character, but he goes by the name of Spence.  He lives on the huge space station known as Gotham.  He is on a research project, studying sleep habits.  He falls in love with this girl who is the directors daughter, her name is Ari.

Spence is a very high-strung character, usually does not interact with people, and has a very strong will.  He's ashamed of his status, because he is a poor man, and he only got to his job because he was really smart.

Hocking is another main character in this book.

He is Spence's Arch Nemesis.  He is able to control dreams with a machine, that is able to pry into you dreams and plant the dreams the user wants.  Spence is awake when it happens, but when he wakes up he can't remember anything.  Spence is Hocking's main target.  He is more skeleton than human, and is a grade A on Gotham.

Adjani is the coolest guy in the book.

He is an Indian who work on Gotham, he befriends Spence and repeatedly tries to convince Spence that there is a God.  He is one of the only friends Spence has, and is a key element in getting the dream thief.

3

The time is somewhere in the future, it never said.

The setting is mainly on the space station Gotham.  But sometimes it will be on earth, or on mars.

4

One of the lessons in this book, and one that Spence constantly faces is that there really is a God.  Spence's martian friend Kyr, and Adjani repeatedly try to convince Spence there is a God.

Love, betrayal, mystery, friendship, and adventure.

Spence's girlfriend was kidnapped, and he had the choice to go after the dream thief and try to stop him before he had control over all of mankind, or go after Ari.  He chooses to go after the dream thief.

5

  1. Spence realizes that someone is controlling his dreams, but has no idea who it is.  He decides to go on an exploration to mars, hoping to get away from his mysterious marauder.
  2. On mars he is nearly killed, when Hocking finds out and plants a dream that makes him sleepwalk into a mars storm.  Where the temperature is -87F and the winds are around 100 miles an hour.
  3. Spence manages to make it into an underground cavern, where he discovers a deserted martian city.  And he manages to 'remake' and martian name Kyr.  They become friends and Kyr gives Spence a small disc that he is able to use to signal him when he holds it and thinks about him.
  4. Spence and Adjani go to earth to find Ari's mother and ask her where the dream thief is.  She tells them it is in India.  Ari's mother went crazy after an encounter with the dream thief.
  5. Spence and Adjani go off together, after Ari is kidnapped, after the dream thief.  They find him, but Hocking already killed him and stole the machine.  The real dream thief was a martian named Ortu, and he was Hockings master.
  6. Meanwhile Hockings had taken the machine to Gotham and was about to take over the station when Spence comes and foils his plans.
6

Best book I ever read.

I really like how Spence told Kyr that people had to choose whether or not they believed in God, and Kyr says "how can anyone not believe there is a god?  There is no logical explanation for all this, except that God made it."

I don't know as if I didn't like any part of it.

Not really, I mean it was futuristic and such, but besides the computer stuff he sometimes uses, it wasn't confusing.

Not by any long shot, I kept expecting it to end soon, but it kept going for quite a while.

Spence announced that he was giving up his project and going back to earth, Ari is disappointed, and then he asked her if she wanted to go with him, and meet his family.

The Thiefs of Tyburn Sqaure

The Thiefs of Tyburn Sqaure
Elizabeth Fry she is a Female

The main character is Betsy she is a girl that had many hardships in life and endured them all. Her brother Loren is the one that made some of the hardships he got caught for stealing and she got caught for being his accomplice. Their mother is the one that taught her kids to steal because she stole 2 candle sticks.

It was 1817 in London when this took place London was very dirty and had all kindes of outlaws and  thieves.

Moral of the story don't get caught being an accomplice.

The hardships in her life were she got her mother taken away with her then she got put into a workhouse then she got put into a prison for six months and finally her best friend died.

I think the book was good, I liked it how she got let out of prison.  But I don't like how she got put into prison.

The story was not hard to believe and it was a good ending.
